Description

TraffiCard is a plug-in device that works in conjunction with traffic sensing devices such as loop or video detectors. It connects to up to four detection outputs and records the exact time and duration of each vehicle passage. Additionally, it is able to use the signals it senses to perform auxiliary functions such as speed and length measurement. TraffiCard has two outputs which can be used to signal other equipment when over-speed and/or over-length vehicles are present (TooFast) or when a vehicle’s presence exceeds a user-settable time period (TooLong).

Installation of TraffiCard is simple. Simply plug it into any card rack slot configured for a two or four channel vehicle detector card. It is designed to accept power from the rack on the normal detector power pins. Inputs to the TraffiCard are provided on normal loop input pins. Outputs from the TraffiCard are provided on the normal output pins.

Every effort has been made to make the connection of detector outputs to the TraffiCard inputs easy. The TraffiCard inputs have been designed to work in parallel with controller inputs so that both the TraffiCard and a controller can be connected to the same detector outputs. This keeps duplication of the detection equipment to a minimum.


To provide for easy wiring, TraffiCard allows:

1. wiring the rack to provide connections, or

2. using the optional QuikIN “edge connector adapter” that jumpers the appropriate signals from a detector in any slot to TraffiCard, or placing the TraffiCard to the right of a detector in a cross-wired rack and placing jumpers J1 & J2 in the position closest to the board center.
